Bao Bao is on the outer edge of Boxpark Croydon, a place I visit regularly because of its wide variety, proximity to my house, ramps and space for buggies. Everything in Boxpark is ok. Not bad, not incredible, just ok and Bao Bao is no exception to that rule.
Bao Buns are pretty delicious even when they’re just ok. They’re a Taiwanese street food that became popular in London thanks to Bao which originated at Kerb but graduated to a chain of incredibly well received restaurants. Bao is wonderful, Bao Bao is like its less attractive cousin who you settle for when you can’t make it to Bao in town.
There’s basically no space for buggies here unless they’re empty, which they were when I visited. If they’re busy, get take out and head to the benches in the centre where you’ll find a huge number of other parents and children hanging out.
cool with breastfeeding
loads of other parents
space for buggies but only if your the only parents there, its a tight squeeze
