Nuala Old Street

Ex-Chiltern Firehouse and Dubliner Niall Davidson is behind Nuala, a pared back, industrial space serving up high end Irish comfort food by Old Street roundabout. The restaurant is spacious and very buggy accessible. They’d not been open long at the time of writing this review so didn’t have highchairs (yet) but their generous circular ‘retro modern’ booths gave Max room to sit with us and stand with us and sit with us an stand with us and sit with us and stand with us because that is his current favourite pass time.

Waitstaff here are clearly very excited about their restaurant, service was friendly, informative and enthusiastic. The restaurant is spacious and unpretentious, the cooking is high end but simple. The thing I liked most was the feature of whisky and stout in several dishes.

What’s good? That steak tartare. The desserts. The wine list. The service.

Kid Friendly? This place has all the makings of an easy East London haunt for parents but although clearly willing, they’ve not got everything in place yet.
