Ta Ta Eatery Kensal Rise

Nestled in the back of the Borough Wines shop is Ta Ta’s current pop up. It’s the sort of ramshackle, quirky, bare boards, kind of space that I find very charming. The menu is short but sweet, full of inventive and exciting fusion dishes.

Take for example the ox cheek ‘quesadilla’. I have no idea what the quesadilla is made out of but what I do know is that it is a beautiful greasy translucent pastry which is both delightfully crunchy and delectably gooey.

This isn’t an ideal place to take small children. They’ve not got any of the kit for it but if you’re prepared to bring a portable highchair they’re more than accommodating. There’s also a little space outside, which I wish we’d sat at because Max lost his rag at the end of the meal and I had to take the screamer outside while my husband paid.

Ta Ta should have its own place, it’s some of the best cooking I’ve seen in the time I’ve been writing this blog and I hope this happens for them. Until such time, their pop up is running until the end of August so for the love of god, go.

What’s good? Everything we ordered. The ox cheek quesadilla, the katsu sandwich, the pickled mackerel, the ice cream. And a banging wine selection.

Kid friendly? The team are willing and there’s space for buggies.
