Cheesy Tiger Margate

Shortly after depositing our suitcase and Max’s sleepyhead grand at our lodgings for the weekend in Margate we excitedly strolled into Hantverk & Found to be met with blank stares when we explained that we didn’t have a reservation for lunch. They didn’t try and book us for another time or day, we were stood in the middle of an empty dining room and then we said ‘oh.’ and left. Never to return.

In a much smoother move when we fronted up at Cheesy Tiger that night the front of house offered us a drink explained they were full for the evening and booked us in for lunch the following day. Simple. And what a difference.

Cheesy Tiger is located at the end of Margate Pier. It’s got a cracking view and predominantly outdoor bench seating. Every item on its short menu includes cheese which for me is a consistently winning formula. They knew we were bringing Max along so they gave us the shadiest table as it was scorching but there’s no further accommodating factors in regards to kids here, we didn’t care. Max snoozed in the midday sun and the food is top notch.

What’s good? That toastie, the cacio e pepe, the beef carpaccio and, I imagine, everything else they serve. I’m sad that we missed dessert as we had a train to catch. Someone else go along and tell me about it ok?

Kid friendly? They’re willing but lacking in equipment.
