Catch Giffnock

Seafood in Scotland is just miles better than most other places. Apart from maybe Australia where I grew up but I wouldn’t consider that length of commute for a meal with the kids. We figured we’d best try out a renowned fish and chip option in Glasgow and aside from the fish being absolutely fresh, the batter at Catch is magical. Crisp, light, wonderfully greasy magic.

We trundled along with both kiddos and headed to their upstairs sit down space. It’s cheerily nautical and the staff are super accommodating bringing a high chair and crayons and giving us plenty of time for Max to finish his tantrum and get off the floor. You’ll have to carry your buggy up if you’re bringing one because downstairs is only booth seating and space is tight.

Catch definitely isn’t your usual chippy. But it is still a chippy at the end of the day. If you don’t fancy any public meltdowns during your fish supper then there’s always take away.

What’s good? The haddock, the onion rings, the lobster mac and cheese, the churros. Catch might not be your usual chippy but still, stick to the deep fried options on the menu, its what they do best.

Kid friendly? Aye.
