Stoke House Victoria

Stoke house opened just this week in the Nova complex at Victoria.  They were exceptionally welcoming of our little party and checked if we needed a highchair straight away. It’s a sort of homely industrial space, with a lot of wrought iron, succulents in pots, and fire wood stacked up, the day’s menu hanging from the wall on a roll of brown paper. Billed as a modern brasserie, you pay by the weight for your meat and there’s a range of well presented hot and cold sides. Service is fast and affable. Quite a treat.

What’s good? All the meat, the smoked cauliflower cheese and the desserts.

Kid friendly? Woah – so friendly, bend over backwards friendly. Several staff members came over to coo at the baby.
