This charming, stylish restaurant has been favourably reviewed by everyone and what you’re about to read will be no different. The cooking at Pascere is marvellous. If this restaurant were in London you would not be able to get a table for months and it would cost twice what they’re charging. Inside is all turquoise and mustard, plump furnishings and jazz. It’s got the feel of a speakeasy but friendlier. Outside is furnished like a patio in The Hamptons.
We chose to sit outside due to space constraints, although there are several tables where a buggy could be parked, they were all occupied and we hadn’t booked. Also Max is doing a new type of scream-groan these days and I didn’t want to ruin the mood. They’ve made no provision for children and seemed mildly surprised by our prescience but were warm and welcoming regardless. This is an excellent option high end option for lunch on a warm day with a buggy in tow, especially at nap time but it’s worth a babysitter too if you’d like an evening meal.
What’s good? The cooking here is precise and artistic and we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate. The pork belly was especially excellent, as well as the walnut and muscovado cake with beetroot sorbet.
Kid friendly? Sort of by accident.
