Brick & Liquor Clapham

Nestled at the bottom of Clapham Common is the second outpost of Brick & Liquor, a neighbourhood joint modelled on New York dive bars. It’s dark and moody and does fantastically inventive cocktails but on the weekend also brunch which is what we went for.

Now, Brick & Liquor were expecting us as we’d been invited to dine with them but it doesn’t lessen the impact of being asked if we needed anything for the baby (bread, some food warmed etc) as we arrived. What magic words – can I get something for your baby?

There’s space to accommodate maybe three buggies in the space and there’s also outdoor seating which makes dining here with a little person more accessible in summer. Brick & Liquor is a bar first and foremost but for locals this is a go to brunch spot. The portions are huge and the cocktails incredible.

What’s good? The Eggs Royale with its perfectly poached eggs and The great British pancake stack. We’ll be back for the kedgeree.

Kid friendly? Surprisingly so.
