Red Farm Covent Garden

About 4 years ago I was in New York crashing on a mates couch during half term from my nursing degree. Every time I went back to visit NYC, after living there, I always made a list of all the best places to eat and on this particular visit in 2014 RedFarm was getting a lot of play.

Have you ever been to Katz’s deli in New York? Home of the best pastrami in the world? Well. RedFarm put that pastrami in their egg rolls. I was instantly smitten with the place. So you can imagine my glee when they finally set up shop in Covent Garden this September.

The restaurant looks eerily familiar as it’s modelled on the west village branch with long shared tables and plenty of greenery. The staff, at least for the moment, are all imports from New York and they bring the kind of customer service you just don’t see in Britain with them. Friendly, warm, storytelling, ever helpful and excited people that you almost feel you’ve made proper friends with by the end of the meal.

What’s good? Umm everything. The soup dumplings, the pac man dumplings too. The cocktails, THE EGG ROLLS. Do not pass go without order the egg rolls. I beg you.

Kid friendly? I was here sans Max however, they kindly informed me that they have highchairs which frankly these days is a green light for I’m bringing my baby because I need dumplings.
