Look, a lot of fancy critic types think Brasserie Zedel is a glorified Cafe Rouge and I really strongly disagree. The upstairs cafe is quaint and feels much more authentic than a Rouge and the main restaurant is grand as hell. These are the guys who brought us The Delauney and The Wolsley and I think ALL of their establishments are class. What’s more, they’re happy to accommodate kids, which I dig. This place is affordable, elegant, bustling and for me, a great place to grab an Alsacienne frankfurter (pictured above), which ain’t that easy to come by.
What’s good? The Creme Brûlée, the Gâteau aux Poires et Caramel Salé and the Choucroute “Zédel”.
