I bloody love Passyunk Avenue. Although I guess technically it’s a theme bar, what it actually feels like has happened is that someone has taken a Philly dive bar and plonked it down in Fitzrovia Wizard of Oz style. The only way you can tell where you actually are is down to the English accents of the people working there.
These guys do sandwiches and bloody good ones. It is not fancy. Portions are massive. There is cheese wiz. It is all glorious. And you can get a Pabst blue ribbon if you’re that way inclined. It’s not equipped for under 5s at all but there’s space to squeeze a buggy in at the front and it’s casual enough not to feel conspicuous. Plus the service is fast and there’s a lot of options on the menu that a small person would happily consume.
What’s good? The cheesesteaks obviously but everything. Every single cheese coated thing.
Kid friendly? Not on paper but we managed.
