*Winces*
Ok so I’m going to start with the good stuff.
The food at Bababoom is excellent, fresh, delicious. Max ate a considerable amount of their sweet potato hummus. They’ve got a bunch of highchairs because they’re in Clapham and you’d be mad not to in this area but it’s a tight squeeze with a buggy.
If you’re local this is absolutely worth a visit but be warned, now we come to the bad stuff. On the day of our meal the service was unpleasant. We were initially seated at a table where the buggy would have gotten in everyone’s way so we asked to move to the back of the restaurant where there weren’t any customers. I think this is the point where we began to piss our server off.
We moved and explained we just wanted to make sure we weren’t in the way laughing nervously and apologetically because we already felt like we were not getting on with the server. He threw the menus on our table. The menus were strapped to pieces of wood. Then when he eventually returned to take out order as I began to order the second dish he exaggeratedly sighed and said I guess I better go and get a pen and stomped away. He then repeatedly put hot dishes directly in front of Max even whilst I asked him not to.
Now, the food honestly is lovely here but we won’t be returning because we are sort of afraid of that dude. If you’re lucky enough to avoid him I think it would be an entirely different dining experience but thems the breaks I guess.
What’s good? The mutton flat bread, the sweet potato hummus. The chicken wings.
Kid friendly? Even though they’ve got highchairs AND a kids menu, on the day we visited, no. We felt like a huge barely tolerable inconvenience.
