This place man. This is one exciting place. Me and Max and my friend Sabrina and her little girl Anais turned up to the grand opening of Cakes and Bubbles because we heard there was free cheesecake. We had no idea while we stood in the queue while kids grizzled if they’d even let us in. It’s fancy. Proper fancy.
But the one thing I’ve learned after writing this blog is that if a restaurant is attached to a hotel then they are fully prepared for you to bring a small fry. They have highchairs. They have to. The baby change is going to be like going to a spa. The Hotel Cafe Royale is no exceptions this rule.
The room is beautiful but a little tight so they will want to put your buggy away if possible but after that has been organised you are in for a proper treat. Not only is the dessert on offer here exceptional. I mean Albert Adrià has been voted the best pastry chef in the entire world. Previously of Barcelona’s three Michelin starred El Buli. It’s that good. But the wine list is incredible too. And if you’re lucky they might even give your little person a teddy bear to keep because that’s what they did for us.
Fully bowled over by this gorgeous place and it’s gorgeous cake and it’s gorgeous booze. Just go.
