Jidori Hackney

This place has the most amazing chicken I’ve ever eaten. End of. Sorry I said end of. That’s a bit dated culturally now isn’t it but you get my point. Jidori do chicken on sticks mostly or yakitori if you will. And honestly it is exceptional chicken on sticks.

The Hackney restaurant is spacious and light filled with pastel hues. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and there’s space for buggies. During our visit there were two other tables with under twos with them. So it’s weird to me that they don’t have a highchair stashed anywhere but they do have a kids menu. Hackney is 100 percent a family neighbourhood these days and it makes a statement not having the equipment that allows parents to eat without a kiddo on their lap but other than this I cannot fault them.

Jidori is a really affordable option, the chicken will absolutely please the littles as much as it pleases the grown ups. Properly tender, fresh and organic. Just lovely.

What’s good? The price. The chicken thighs. The ginger ice cream.

Kid friendly? I’m still not sure.
