The Perky Nel Clapham

The latest out posting from The Livelyhood group, following on from The Faber Fox in Crystal Palace and The Mere Scribbler in Streatham is The Perky Nel just by Clapham Common. These guys are prepared for your children, FYI. With highchairs a plenty and a colouring in children’s menu, they know they’ve landed in nappy valley and they are not afraid. Even if your son screams MUMMY MUMMY TOILET TOILET at his grandmother whilst you quickly excuse yourself, eyelids remain unbatted.

If you’ve got smaller people who are still immobile, The Perky Nel’s terrace will be an excellent spot to bask in the impending summer sun. The indoor space more useful once they start attempting to escape. Tastefully decorated with incredibly friendly staff, The Perky Nel is a warm, welcoming, utilitarian space where you can get a delightful slice of orange polenta cake and a nice glass of Chablis or a pint and some cracking triple cooked chips if you prefer. This lovely gastropub is also dog friendly, has live music and free WiFi so it’s a perfect all day, all the family hang.

What’s good? Those chips. The macaroni cheese bites. All the puddings. They’ve got some vegan options too. Plus a very pleasing children’s menu divided into age groups.

Kid friendly? Absolutely.
