Maybe if we hadn’t rocked up to Fiume on a scorching bank holiday Monday I would be writing a different review right now but sitting on a terrace by the river, drinking a cocktail and eating a truffle and grana pandana doughnut is a way to live, let me tell you.
Fiume is part of the new Battersea Power station development and because it is new, it is an easy place to get around if you’re on wheels. There’s ample space for buggies and outdoor seating which always makes me feel more relaxed about dining with a small person. It’s a tasteful place and if you squint on a good day maybe you’re on the Amalfi Coast and not in Sauf Landan.
The service was a little slow but also it was heaving the day we visited owing to the cracking weather so I’m forgiving them that, the waitstaff were charming with Max and because we were outside he happily pointed and shouted both ‘DOG’ and ‘TREE’ each time he saw either, which was often.
What’s good? The brunch options are on point. That doughnut is insane and the pasta I had was also excellent.
